It was great to finally meet Bruce Michaels, and re-unite with Gordon Tibbs as well as Phil Jeffers, Omar Lugo, Bill Fowler and Pee Wee was there!
Omar showed his 2WD 3/4 ton '58 GMC Fleetside, a beautiful restoration with all original with factory power steering and optional clock!
Tom showed his '57 GMC 1/2 ton with the stock 270 GMC straight six. This panel at one time was used as a camera truck by KTTV channel 11 - a local television station here in the Southern California area.
An anonymous member with his '59 Chevy 1/2 ton Fleetside with camper shell also showed up for the festivities.

gatherings!

Well, Santa Maria turned out to be more enjoyable to me
than expected. Gary Stutz showed up with his newly found joy, he was so glad to make it, driving his '59 Napco panel all the way down
from Washington! My wife, Gary and I took a walk thru the show and swap meet and just talking trucks. As usuall, many late model trucks
were there, but we didn't pay much attention, we were not interested in those to say the least, only the Napcos were on our minds.
Friday night, were decided to bar-b-que at the camp site Gary was staying at, and had a blast! Saturday morning, Gordon Tibbs showed
up and the fun continued! We again walked thru the show and thru all the low rider jumping trucks and past the high towered trucks
to Gordon's truck. Gordon was leaving that night, so we went to dinner and enjoyed the company of 3 Napco owners finally getting together
on the west coast. An unexpected surprise appearance from Bud Bixler shocked us as well! click here for Santa Maria photos
Well, here we go, it's time to gather up all of the Napco truck owners in our group and those outside our group to meet. We have come up with West Yellowstone Montana again in August. Last year, we simply got burned out...literally! The fires put an end to our trip.
Jim Klauzer stepped forward and volunteered his time to locating campgrounds, motels and such to help bring it all together! (thanks Jim!).
Another meet was theTruck Carlisle in PA. being an East Coast meet. The date was June 28-30, 2002, Elsworth Spicher volunteered his time and efforts to organising this meet. Elsworth gave up his swap meet spaces for an informal gathering place to sit and talk trucks. Here is a link to the Carlisle meet: http://www.carlisleevents.com/Truck/truck.htm. Go to the Carlisle events link for additional information about this very large show every year. In my opinion, this show is too big to see in one day. I highly recommend at least one overnite stay. The best days are Friday and Saturday.
