Brothers 11th Annual Truck Show 2009!

Hello NAPCO Members,
Sunday July 12th, 2009 a few of us NAPCO owners (Pat Wilson, Tom Campbell, Jessee Cisneros & myself Pee-Wee) went to a local So-Cal truck show that is put on annually each year by Brothers Trucks. I want to thank Omar Lugo at Lugoparts.com for sportin' us with some cool T-shirts... thanks guys!

I of course showed off Nessee, a 58 GMC burb but opted out of the judging, I wanted Tom to win BAD he deserves it!! I don't mean to toot our own horn but I really liked the way our trucks looked lined up together. Tom's 57 GMC Panel is such an awesome panel truck and every year Brothers seems to pass it by. It has gone to the Brothers Truck Shows more than any other NAPCO ever and never even got mentioned. Hey Tom, your truck will always be a winner in my eyes... awesome job!! I'm sure the gang agrees too!!

Also a BIG congrats goes to Pat Wilson for winning TWO awards with one truck!! (You THIEF!!) Way to go Mister! He brought out Bud formerly named Cooter which is a HUGE GMC 300 flatbed NAPCO with a dump. It stirred up a lot of attention as it towered over all of the NAPCOs with it's bright orange paint job!! Nice truck Pat!!

But Pat wasn't happy bringing only one NAPCO to the show... no, no, no. He had Jessee Cisneros drive his 1956 GMC one ton stepside which is other one of the coolest NAPCOs in our group! Thanks Pat & Tom for bringing out your trucks to the show for all to see!

There were a lot of really cool 2-wheelers that were both custom and stock that were nicely restored but our true interest was defiantly our NAPCO trucks. So I've uploaded abt 30 pics of Sunday's show for everybody to see at our photo gallery at:

Email me if you want any of the photos in a larger version. Don't forget to log in and leave a comment for Pat Wilson and Tom Campbell or else I'll come over and let the air out of your tires Chump!!! Hope you all enjoy!
We'll, here is our first Napco Owners group BBQ!

It was great to finally meet Bruce Michaels, and re-unite with Gordon Tibbs as well as Phil Jeffers, Omar Lugo, Bill Fowler and Pee Wee was there!

Brothers truck show....new members found and current members re-united!
Brothers trucks show was located in Anaheim CA., so far anually. Great location under many shade trees....important here in the middle of summer time! I was told over 300 trucks made it here today. Even though there were many beautiful trucks on display, our only real interest was the Napco converted trucks.

Omar showed his 2WD 3/4 ton '58 GMC Fleetside, a beautiful restoration with all original with factory power steering and optional clock!

Tom showed his '57 GMC 1/2 ton with the stock 270 GMC straight six. This panel at one time was used as a camera truck by KTTV channel 11 - a local television station here in the Southern California area.

An anonymous member with his '59 Chevy 1/2 ton Fleetside with camper shell also showed up for the festivities.

West Yellowstone meet

And now, the photos from West Yellowstone meet in August!, thought only a handful this time, it's a start to bigger and better times for future gatherings!

Santa Maria....a success!

Well, Santa Maria turned out to be more enjoyable to me than expected. Gary Stutz showed up with his newly found joy, he was so glad to make it, driving his '59 Napco panel all the way down from Washington! My wife, Gary and I took a walk thru the show and swap meet and just talking trucks. As usuall, many late model trucks were there, but we didn't pay much attention, we were not interested in those to say the least, only the Napcos were on our minds.
Friday night, were decided to bar-b-que at the camp site Gary was staying at, and had a blast! Saturday morning, Gordon Tibbs showed up and the fun continued! We again walked thru the show and thru all the low rider jumping trucks and past the high towered trucks to Gordon's truck. Gordon was leaving that night, so we went to dinner and enjoyed the company of 3 Napco owners finally getting together on the west coast. An unexpected surprise appearance from Bud Bixler shocked us as well! click here for Santa Maria photos

Well, here we go, it's time to gather up all of the Napco truck owners in our group and those outside our group to meet. We have come up with West Yellowstone Montana again in August. Last year, we simply got burned out...literally! The fires put an end to our trip.

Jim Klauzer stepped forward and volunteered his time to locating campgrounds, motels and such to help bring it all together! (thanks Jim!).

Another meet was theTruck Carlisle in PA. being an East Coast meet. The date was June 28-30, 2002, Elsworth Spicher volunteered his time and efforts to organising this meet. Elsworth gave up his swap meet spaces for an informal gathering place to sit and talk trucks. Here is a link to the Carlisle meet: http://www.carlisleevents.com/Truck/truck.htm.  Go to the Carlisle events link for additional information about this very large show every year. In my opinion, this show is too big to see in one day. I highly recommend at least one overnite stay. The best days are Friday and Saturday.
